Looks perfect to me too! One of the things I've always loved about pastels is the skin tones, and these are wonderful! The little girl at the front is obviously taking her role very seriously and feels very beautiful (if nervous), you can see it all on her face and in the way she is standing!

Absolutely beautiful and very well done!

I'll just say that I would be very proud to sign a work like that.

Thank you so much !!!! I really love the grace and beauty of dancers and these two girls are quite serious about their dance and are very beautiful indeed. I am planning on displaying this in the NH Pastel SOcietys exhibit next month. I also may enter it in competition- not sure it will do very well- the talent that is out there is beyond belief!! I will not know though if I do not try.

This is beautiful, Cathleen. I agree with Barb. You need to enter it in competitions. The skin tones are amazing. And the painting is not rigid. It is flowing. Looks like your heart was definitely in this one.

Hi Cathleen the only thing that is jumping out to me, is a beautiful painting of two gorgeous girls having fun..i just adore ballerinas, you have so beautifully captured their grace and serenity. They are so life like, well done, brilliant.

Just a perfect painting. Such a serene scene yet still has a hint of a big moment to come. Great work.

This is truly a wonderful piece of art. You have captured the little girls perfectly. I was impressed with your last ballerina and looked back at all of your previous posts. You are very talented. I was wondering where you get your reference photos? Do you have a child in ballet? One big challenge to painting people to be able to get photos of what you want to paint. Once again, I am in awe of your work. Terri

I just want to add my admiration for thie piece here. Beautiful. Yes, do enter it in something because it is special. :)

Thank you Terri and dollardays,
I take mostly my own photos for my references of people. I have two nieces who are ballerinas and are such a joy to paint. I have used one ref from the library for the sitting ballerina that you may have seen. My still lifes are mostly done from life. I am not a very good photographer so I just do the best that I can. Thank you for your interest.

Hello Cathleen. I would like to join the chorus of approval and affirmation above. :)
This is a lovely study, serene and beautiful. I think the girls are sisters (?). The whole thing is lovely, but the way you have captured the roses on the pink costume is very good. I'll look forward to seeing more of your work - and may the people of NH get a real good look at them too!
