Wow, a new forum! I'm in!!

This is a recent watercolor on 1/2 sheet of arches 300# Bright White. The ref photo is from the RIL, by stephie20. It is the first subject of the Macro Class in the Watercolor Learning Zone run by charM (and then me  ). I will be float mounting it in the next week or so. One of the watercolor moderators has requested a WIP on the mounting so I'll be doing that too.

C&C welcome.

I love doing peony macros and really appreciate how well you've done with this one - well done - it's lovely.

I had a terrific time this summer buying peonies everytime I went to stock up with food and then bringing them home to photograph them so I can do peony macros all through the winter! There's just something about the way the petals and stamens behave which I really like.

Oh this is just so beautiful. Those shadows are wonderful, the colors are just perfect. And so much white. I tried watercolors one time, I filled in all the white area's lol :D

Thanks Celeste, they were a bear - took a week to paint it was that confusing!
Val, you are so sweet, Thank you.
Thanks Katherine, I do the same thing with roses!
Thanks to you too Deb. at the white... I think all of us have a tube of chinese white and lamp black somewhere dying for lack of attention.
Thank you Sue.

It has beautiful colour and light - I love those strong contrasts.
I hope you'll post a link when you do the framing - I'm sure many will appreciate it :D
