I posted this a long time ago in the oils section and had very little attention paid to it so I was thinking it would be okay to repost it here in the new forum. This is 20 X 24 canvas, oil on black gesso background. What shows as white is actually yellow, it is just the way the digicam sees it. I would love to get some feedback on this.

Yes, absolutley post it here! :D

I love the warmth of the petals! Very vibrant! And I love the curves, too. This would definitely lift my spirits in the winter. :)

I really like this Sue - and I'd never have seen it but for this forum!
Beautiful glow in the petals - lovely form too.
I can see why it's a favourite!

You did a great job Sue - I've always thought it would be nice to paint this viewpoint of a tulip - I find it so interesting.

Sue,
This is a gorgeous bee's-eye view of the heart of a tulip. The colors are glowing and the composition really catches the viewer's attention.

Thank you Maureen, Celeste and Sylvia. I appreciate you all taking the time to comment. I was drawn by the unusual viewpoint and the colors of this one and now a few years later, I still like it.

Sue, I'm glad that you took a while to reply otherwise I probably would have missed your tulip as I'm rather new here. I really like the angle of the flower - it is so very different. It kind of makes a tulip look like a whole new flower. Great job.

I too am glad that you brought it up to the front again, or I would have missed it also. So colorful and I have always loved the different angles flowers give us.
Hope all is going well now with your health.

Thanks Kym, I apreciate your comment! I may try another of these as it is a favorite of mine.
Thanks Kathy, I have had a little relapse since posting that reply, but am definitely on the mend now.
Thanks Sue.
Thanks Elaine. I love the boldness of your work so am thinking about doing another of these in a larger format. I find it very dramatic and eye catching as it is now, so a larger one would definitely 'pop'.
