I go out every other weekend or so photographing themed things. Today was a nature reserve just outside of Philadelphia.
Here are a few shots...

Thank you Val.
 Deb, yes I guess so but I am not entering into that discussion. I do not mind them being this size ;)

Fantastic shots, Carol! Can we use these for references? What are those green things in the first one? I love the Queen Ann's Lace too!

Sure you can use them. I haven't wacked a copyright symbol on any of them. I do not know what the green things are except fruit from a native tree to the area.

Beautiful photography! Would these be from the John Heinz nature preserve? I am originally from Philadelphia and this is one of the best places for viewing wildlife and interesting plants like the ones you photographed.

   Good eye Artsyme. It was my first visit there. We plan to go back in a couple of weeks at sunset.
Maureen I got the backgrounds so dark, partly with exposure and aperture but also when composing the shot I was interested in what was behind the element. e.g. the white flower I got low enough so the river colour was behind the flower. The fruit was in sunlight and there were fairly deep shadows behind.

You have such an eye for these little shots that turn into grand works! I'd love to see more detail on the Queen Ann's Lace.

~GASP!~ Those are amazing. I thought you had either carried a black piece of paper to hold behind them, or photoshopped them(which would be hours on a detailed flower like that!). Awesome job achieving results with the camera.

A digi is well worth the investment. And think memory is free, well after you purchase it, you can rattle off any amount of shots.
Thank you for the compliment
