These are Double Delight Roses from my rose bush. These are my favorite, just love them. I'm working on painting one of my rose references right now, and I'm finding all the white a little hard to work with. :) And if anyone is interested I do have some rose photos in the Image Ref Lib, the links in my signature line :)

Deb, these are absolutely beautiful. I've got a Double Delight too, and it's certainly well named, as it is a sheer delight to see. I really love your photography. What's the name of the second Rose in your photos? I'll be sure to check your photos out in the RIL.

All 3 are double delights, just different blossoms. I find they have more white in the middle before they open all the way, then they have more pink. The fragrance of these roses are so wonderful too, don't you think?

These really are inspiring Deb - when I have time, I'll be asking! :D

For your painting - there's actually very little white in these!

Like the way you light the subjects.

Hi Maureen, the reference I am painting right now is this one. To tell you the truth I don't know why I'm fighting with it. I keep putting it away and then I drag it back out lol.

Oh and please feel free to ask :) I would be more then happy to add any of them.

I, too, like the second shot, with the light radiating through the petals. Beautiful!

I like your shot in post #6 - almost as if a heart in the center.

Great gorgeous gems! At our last house I had planted one of these varieties. Roses grow very well in hot dry Texas as I'm sure they do where you live. Thanks for sharing. Might try photo number 2 one of these days.
