Hi just popping to say hi and congrats on the new forum. Nice to have one dedicated to florals and the like.

'Peace' is a commission and was completed a few weeks ago. The ref pic for this painting was taken especially for me by my good friend and fellow wetc member Maltman. (Thanks Brian) The foliage is showing a bit flat here and is brighter in reality, however the blooms are pretty close. C&Cs welcomed.

Stretched Canvas 30" x 24" painted around the edges.

Elaine - what a perfectly lovely piece.:clap::clap:

The modulations of colour across the petals are excellent but I really like the way you've done the leaves as well - they so often make or break a floral artwork even though they play a "supporting role"

Is this acrylics or oil?

It's good to see this over here too Elaine!
I think others will soon come to appreciate the beautiful light you paint into your florals!

This is so detailed! As always your blending is superb. If I could do just one petals like you do I'd be thrilled.

Thanks guys.

Katherine I'm sorry. This work is Acrylic. I'm so used to posting my work in the acrylic forum I completely forgot to mention the medium.

Marianne. In terms of hours it took around 20.

this is so delicate for an acrylic - those petals are beautifully done - almost perfumed :)
