Hi everyone, Vivien was kind enough to send me here, I hadn't seen this forum before, and am going to love exploring here.

This is a watercolor I started, just realizing today it still needs more work but as is this is it.

15 x 20

Very nice! I'm not sure what you still need to do. Makes me want to give the paints a try.

Thanks Dan, and Howdy to a neighbor too!! We have a home in North Phoenix, but live in San Diego at the moment. Bet it's hot there huh? Best be by the pool today.

You should, watercolor is my favorite medium. As far as finishing, I need to add shadows to the upper right stems etc.

Lori, this is beautiful -- you've captured it perfectly. I have some photos just like this and have been going to start one for ages, and now you've given me the inspiration to do it. I love the cast shadows in this one too. Great work.

We've been there a few times this year for Sea World (got a year pass on Jan 2) and looks like we'll try one more time around Oct. My wife has a sister in Irvine so we stay there a day or two then head down.

Beautiful work, I really like the composition. I tried watercolors one time, not so easy, I think that this is really amazing!

Lori - it's those watercolurs with impact again! Lovely clean colours and faculous impact. I was really admiring it when I saw it at the smaller size on your blog.

What are you planning to work on some more?

Hi Lori, very pretty. I like your colors. Did you spatter some of the dots? The dark background really pops the flower.

Nice crop and beautiful colour - glad you brought this to the forum Lori - welcome! :D

I really like the dramatic lighting of this - and the clean crisp painting!

Katherine and Maureen - Thank you.

Jeanette, Thanks and no I did not spatter, the spatter wouldn't have been large enough, I only have a toothbrush for that and that wouldn't have worked.
