I am willing to host an artist (two maximum) to come here to Australia, stay with me and paint your heart out.I will feed(within reason) and provide your accomodation if in return you will do the same for me at a later date.
What do you think of that for an idea?
It could turn out to be a cheap way to travel and paint if a few of us shared resources/homes etc.
The dollar in Australia is so low that you can travel here very cheaply at present.
Email me for more details of my area/transport etc.

Tell me what you think of it for an idea..please!

Sue...who loves to share and lives remote so there is no one to share with...except you guys.....Thanks to Scott.

Hello grannyb, Yes, your artists sharing plan is grand, and very generous in the bargain. We actually had some correspondence earlier when I asked you for details on the name of the nearby national park, nearest village, name of the pub, etc. I'm a plein air oil painter used to traveling to remote locations (as long as there is good fishing involved somewhere along the way!) and Australia's northern lodges (Seven Spirit Island, for example) have long been one of my unfulfilled destinations. My schedule is much too full this year, but next year looks promising.
You can find out more about me from the images and comments by other participants that were made during the 2000 Getaway to Dillard, Georgia.
Of course your whole idea is based on reciprocity and you might not like my home town of Boca Raton, Florida. It's not at all rural and your chances of getting run over by a Rolls Royce are probably the highest in this country.
I hope you have a nice response to your idea. E-mail me directly if you would like to develop this idea in more detail. Cheers, Old Florida

Sorry folks ,have been using the brush to the detriment of my computer time....back now.
Can't offer Northern rainforests I'm sorry ....I live in Victoria (Southern State) and on the wheatplains at that.I am close to a mountain range, two deserts and several National Parks ...fishing yes!
I live on an isolated smallholding -5 acresI grow & preserve much of my own fruit & veg as a hobby .I am surrounded by waving acres of wheat.canola and sometimes lupins (by the thousands of acres at that)There is a lot to see & paint in this area especially if you a plein air painter.
On a map of Australia if you make a triangle between the towns of Horsham,Dimboola and Warracknabeal ....I am right in the centre!
I'm glad to hear that some think it a good idea.
Phyllis - a travel mate would be a great idea ...yes I can handle two(singles or a double would be fine.)

I am in the process of obtaining quotes and accomodation for an Australian Art group booking for a painting tour here next year so when all replies are in I will post that too.
Any time after September this year or all of next year is fine with me......email me privately for more in depth details.
