I thought I'd share with you a nice honor I received today. I was asked to donate work to the Capitol Art Collection here in New Mexico. They selected this painting for inclusion:

It's called Scent of Rain, and I think I showed it here at one point... It's on Wallis and is 12 x 18". One really nice part is that they will do the archival framing, so there was no cost to me but the paper, pastel and time. It will decorate the Capitol building.

Nice! :)

Hi Deborah,

Congrats and it is a very nice painting. I do love landscapes that have contemporary understated elements, and the highway is great, and the rain is also wonderful. I hope this lands you more kudos and admirers! Yea!

Congratulations, Deborah!
A perfect choice as it shows the powerful energy of the southwest in those colorful and massive clouds.... as well as the open space of miles and miles with a small indent in the horizon to lead one further into the land of magic....a beautiful painting to show so many.

Thanks, gang! Honors are nice when they come unexpectedly like this one... I found out that there was a unanimous vote to accept this painting. That pleases me a lot, as there are some very well-respected people on the panel.

The homeless work is going well... thanks for asking! We're gratified by the opportunities we have.

It is a lovely painting. You must be very pleased. You should post a pic when the framing is done.
