This is a painting of my grandfather and our cat enjoying their Sunday morning ritual. This was done using photo references as they has been gone for many years now. Let me know what you think.http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/12-Jul-2007/110258-3729_Sunday_Morning_jpg.JPG

Raech, this is lovely and a wonderful way to remember your grandfather and cat. I especially like the play of light and the woodgrain on the table.
Great work - and welcome to WetC!

Great piece. The parts that really grab me are the shirt and the wall in the background.

Raech. The light in this portrait is beautiful. What a wonderful tribute to your Grandfather. It is a terrific portrait and the woodgrained table is so well done.

Glad you chose to do the hard thing : the way the light plays on the shirt and the tableis unusual. You seem to have a natural eye. There are so many ways to remember our families, I think this is a very special one.

Thank you all for your kind comments. I really enjoyed working on this one. There were many areas of challenge and I am proud of the result.
Carol, this piece is 11X16 (I think) I can't re-measure at this point because it has been accepted to a juried traveling show and I won't get it back until September.
