View Full Version : Acadian Coastline

This is "Acadian Coastline" in acrylic on canvas, 10" x 10", inspired by trips to Acadia National Park in Maine.
I didn't crop it well, so what appears dark around the edges of the sky is a result of poor cropping...it isn't part of the sky.
All comments are welcome.

surreal.....the color scheme is fabulous! I love the difference in the rendering of the clouds versus all of the other linear shading/line work in the other elements...it gives a hugh sense of depth to the painting.

I've been there, and you represent it in a way that is more abstract, but still keeps the feeling of that wonderful place. :)

This is an interesting view of Acadia. I like it. I live in Maine year round and try to get down to Acadia once or twice a year. What area is this? I like your flowing form, use of line, and the horizon is perfect.

terrygar, Artistry, Orchidlover & blkros,
Thank you all so much for your very kind words, which I greatly appreciate.
This painting was inspired by the coastline in Acadia National Park as are several other paintings I have created.
I have hiked along and beside the pinkish, orange exquisite boulders many, many times. This painting is like a composite of sensory perceptions I have had based on taking in the beauty of the area, which isn't far from Bar Harbor.
How lucky you are to live in such a beautiful state!!!
