View Full Version : My First Show
07-09-2007, 12:23 AM
Well this is it! The darn camera is not working well so I only got one side of the room (got tired of tapping the camera on the table and restarting it!!) I will ask my friend to take a couple better shots and add them later. This is in a specialty coffee house, not nearly as nice as Elaine's new show but then the artwork is no where near as impressive either!! I am terribly excited though as I have never shown before and only have a few pieces in another gallery. This coffee house is well attended by the local business people and art lovers so I am keeping my fingers crossed that I make at least one sale!!
I am hoping the manager will reposition the lights for me but he has been out of the country for a couple weeks, and the staff are not sure if they should.
I was so nervous, I almost canceled. But a few people gave me that extra nudge that I needed and thanks to all of you who were so supportive!!

Congrats on your show. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for sales. Good luck.

Very nice. You might think of taking a photo of each individual piece and then making a slide show of your work for all to see. My wife did that at my show and it was great. For folks that couldn't come the slide show was quite a consolation prize for them they said. I hope they enjoyed it and I think they would be impressed with your work. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the kind words everyone, I am blown away by all your support. The show will be for the entire month of July. I was thinking about changing some of the pieces in the middle of the month just for variety sake. I am over the initial nervousness now but am still thrilled to bits that people are interested in my pictures.

WOW Great going Sue. Congrats on your first showing and I hope you'll have great success. It looks great!
I know it might be difficult but don't be discouraged if sales are not what you hope for, take the learning process and any feedback with you as your reward because that certainly will help you in your next show and also in your growth as an artist. Good luck.
