My first landscape happened in a long time, I actually quited on them

Anghwar from landscape forum challenged me well here it is

http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/08-Jul-2007/94287-2007_07066July0004.JPG

and a close up or two

as usual I used textures....

http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/08-Jul-2007/94287-2007_07066July0006.JPG

http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/08-Jul-2007/94287-2007_07066July0008.JPG

started by slapping ghesso on the fabriano paper and drew in the wet ghesso with about any thing... looked like this

http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/08-Jul-2007/94287-2007_07056July0001.JPG

then I let it dry and put 3 colours blue at top red in middle and yellow at the bottom, acrillics thinned..... and lifter it a little until it ran as far as I wanted it. Dried and then touched up little pieces of the painting...
comments and crits welcome....

Thank you so much, I knew this would be appreciated not only by me. Seems everyone is going to make a landscape artist of you yet, as now you have to do a WIP. :D You live in such a beautiful country, it would be no problem finding subject matter.

Happy Painting

Oh, I'm a big fan of texture and this one looks great! Wonderful colors on the trees too, very nice! One tiny minor thing, the path seems to end a bit abruptly in a dark line. Maybe it turns left? It might also be just the photo/monitor thing.

But I really like this a lot, it would draw me into a gallery for sure! Please do a WIP, that would be exciting to follow!

Beautiful colors used here and great texture. I love this. Thanks for the explanation on how you achieved it. Looks to me as though the road goes down hill and that's why we no longer see it.
