Just finished this one last night.
Pulled it out of the "unfinished / reject" pile just for something to do, since I was having trouble falling asleep.

16X20" acrylic on canvas.

Hiya Steve,

I am very glad you ressurected this one. I love the harmony of all the colors. I wouldn't change anything Steve, just sign it, frame it and hang it.

Nice save. Who needs sleep when you can paint depth and colors like this?

Thanks everyone.
I almost recycled this canvas, but now I'm glad I went ahead and finished it.
I'm still not too crazy about those nearest trees, but I'm pretty happy with the rest of it.
I appreciate your feedback and comments.
Thank you.

Steve. Stop agonising. This looks really great. If you are worried about the foreground trees, my only crit is that they are a bit 'heavy'. A few more sky-holes (negative shapes) and then frame it. I love the grass.

Really, really like the tonal changes in the distant tree bands - yummy!
Perhaps the front trees are just a wee bit too dense - but it doesn't bother me!

I agree totally with what Hal said, sign it, frame it.

The colors in this are SO interesting. It's one of the prettiest landscapes I've seen in awhile. I'm so glad you resurrected it.

I too think it would have been a great shame to lose those super orange grasses - sign & frame .

Thanks again everyone.
I'm really glad that you guys like this one, 'cause landscapes have always been kind of difficult for me.
I went ahead and punched just a few more little sky holes in those foreground trees, as suggested, and it really did help.
I'm getting ready to varnish it now.

Are you nuts? If you change anything about this wonderfully atmospheric painting I'll lose all faith in self-determination and I have enough doubts about my own work as it is. Just sign the damned thing, hang it on the wall and feel sorry for the rest of us. It looks just great. I wish I could paint loose like this.
