Very pretty beads, Ellen. Like the stringer work on them.

I tried some new stuff after watching a couple of DVDs yesterday:

Lovely beadies ladies :)

I haven't posted here in quite a while, sometimes life just insists on getting in the way! Here is my latest.

Ellen, I love your etched beads!
Allie, lovely rose and pendant! Looks like you learned quickly from those dvds!
Teresa, wonderful goddess as usual! I love how shapely they are!

I'm gonna hog a little. I haven't made beads in like a month and a half, until the past 2 weekends...

Some hollows, they are huge! I made my first and only hollow about 6 months ago. Until yesterday! I made two more, and they are twice the size. The pink one is 19x23mm and the orange one is 21x25mm! And I think I'm going to etch the pink ones.

Then there are 2 sets of fritted rounds, 12 beads in each set. The green ones have green adventurine too, so they really sparkle!

Now, a big hole bead, 7/8" inside diameter! And 5 tiny little beads, just ivory, edp, and copper green.

And two small sets that I'll probably make more of before selling/making into jewelry...

You've been busy, Lizajayne. Lovely work. Watch out with the hollows, though. They become very addictive. You're going to want to make more and more! Love the colours. I love the simplicity and colour of the white bicone. Really pretty.

07-02-2007, 12:36 AM
Thanks Allie, I think I will be making many more!

And Leslie, I missed your first picture! Lovely bead. I just love those old fashioned reactions between turquoise, ivory, and coral!

Awesome start friends!
Ellen - more delicious focals from you - good work
Leslie - Love those colors. I see a little dude with glasses and red hair in the corner of that one.....I know switch to decaf!
Allie - That rose is stunning....and the pendant is so ocean like...good stuff!
Terese - Another beauty. I'm starting to resemble you Goddesses more each day. No 24K on my behind yet though...lol I love 'em...gorgeous!
Liazjane - That huge sceamin' orange one is just fabu. Especially like that last set as well.
K...here' one from me. It looked like a Grecian urn so I named it:
Nightie...time for me to hit the rack with the pups. Samma

THUD !!!! Absolutely awesome Anastasia! Theresa, the Goddess... YUM! Every single bead and set is just so lovely, technically, colourwise, sense-wise, this thread sure is a palette for the eyes and saliva glands!!!!! hehe Those hollows - pretty! And Moon, your focal looks like a M and crescent moon upsidedown... lovely dreamy colours...

I wanted to post a bead pic but for some reason it won't work on my pc - been having some problems with it lately (tho they loaded ok on my blog)... anyway thanks for sharing your great work everyone!!!!!

-Ellen- wonderful beads- and I am going out to get some etching solution this week!
-Leslie Anne- those reds and oranges with the turquoise are one of my favoritve color combinations. Great Bead!
-Allie- if those are first attempts, in a week or so your stuff will be worth its weight in gold! Really wonderful work.
-Teresa - what a sumptuous torso - the pose and curves are so well done
-LizaJayne-great beads! The first time I did a hollow, it came out perfect - large bead done with rainbow arranged stripes of transparents. Haven't been able to do one since! Love all your beads - great sense of color!
-Samma-great set - nice combination with findings - a real Byzantine feel!
-Moon - Fun Dots! - All from one session? Looks like a great set to fashion into something really playful!
-Lisi- really nice sets! Is that frits or enamels that you use? I have very limited experience with frit so far.
-Rachelle- great angels - The pink and light blue are so airy and delicate!
-Anastasia- it is amazing how many different styles you produce. Such a creative flow of ideas!

Saturday nights work:

A patriotic set for someone, a year late. But got the beads made and earrings put together, and delivered.

Didn't mean to have this one so lumpy finished, but hadn't thought ahead and ran out of gas while working on it! Still like it. My largest long bead so far, about 1 3/4 inches.

And now about 1/3 way through making my 300 skulls. They called and reminded me to make sure to have orange and rasberry skulls, the main colors for the festival. Now to me they look more like evil genetically altered strawberries and pear tomatoes!

Lizajayne - I love your hollows!! And also the very last set - spill the beans, what colours did you use there? Is the black reaction with opal yellow?

Moon - Just gorgeous! I especially like the muted colours ....and of course the dots! :)

Allie, your pendant is very cool!

Michael - it's fun to see your skulls progress, and excellent dots on your red, white and blue set too!

More dots from me, the middle one looks much better than in the picture, it's all sparkely and almost looks like it has facets.

Nice work this morning. Here are mine.

07-02-2007, 09:12 AM
Thanks all, for commenting on my beads. I have the pink hollow in the etching acid right now, so we'll see if I like it when I get home from work.

Louise, I'm glad you like the last set. No opal yellow at all. It's both an orangey coral and a pinky coral, IB, and a dark yellow. I don't know the number right now. It may even be vetrofond. I pulled it from a giant pile of barely used stringers. I'll get the number for you when I get home.

Oh, Samma ~ you are too funny! Guess I'd better put it on Ebay as "EJ in a bead".... and, of course, sell for a bazillion $$'s :D

07-02-2007, 09:22 PM
Besides the fact that it's a really yummy bead....seriously...list it...
"Lucy in the Sky" Maybe that casino in Vegas will buy it for a billion or two and we can all meet in the middle for a big fat party! OOOOOOOO...I hope that happens! Samma
