Hi Folks.

Today my Wife picked me up as a surprise some cheap DISNEY POOH BEAR, OIL PASTELS, as she thought they were just Pastels.

Can anyone give me any idea, how you use them, as they go on BOCKINGFORD 140lb WATERCOLOUR PAPER, like kids crayons.

Are they only good for drawing outlines, do you all think, any advice, would be very much appreciated.
Cheers.
Tony.

Going to send this over to the oil pastel forum.

My advice, give them to the kids. They are at best student grade and you will not want to use them with soft pastels.

They do sound like poor student grade OPs. I don't think you will be able to get any satisfying results from them, but you might try them out in a sketching technique and see what happens.
There is some good information on oil pastels in the pastel library that you might want to check out. http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=201561
There are also quite a few good threads on OPs in the library.
