Done this today....
I particularly like using these moody colours.
14" X 10" 300GSM bokingford.
Mixture of water colours and acrylics...

Sandi..
I tried a differant approach for the sky..i will try to explain.
I gave the paper a wash with various reds, oranges & yellows and then i used a hairdryer to dry them.
Then i applied various black, crimsons and blues all randomly and completely covered the previous wash.....
Then after that was dry i brushed the surface with water and got a pallette knife and started scraping the dark surface off to reveal the underlying colours, but at the same time leaving a dark tone to the sky...i really like the effect i got from this....
The above was all done in water colours.
Then i laid over the top with acrylics which enabled me to get the effects of the mountains.
Hope you get the idea...i will be doing plenty more dramatic skies like this in the future.

Hello Dan

Warm and cold at the same time, nice work, although I'm nor too keen on the foreground fence, it does not add anything to the painting.

Looking forwars to more from you

Regards

Henry
