I just couldn't contain myself. My husband stole my thunder here around town. After the reception, I was out of town at the workshop given by the juror of the show -- but I can tell you guys!!!
I had my first acceptance into the Southeastern Pastel Society 10th International Show. I had previously been in the Member's Show. I was just happy being included in the International Show! There were entries from all over the United States and I felt good just being in their company. Imagine my surprise when they announced my name at the reception on May 2 as an "Exceptional Merit Award" Winner! I'm sure you could hear me squeal into the next county.
The painting "Evening Gold" is a pastel on Wallis Sanded Paper, 16" x 20". The scan does not show all the colors in the dark areas - lots of deep blue, purple, and reds.

Thanks for letting me share this news with you.
