We stamped "flagstones with 15x15" pieces of carpet underlay, then stencilled vines randomly around. Oh, my aching knees!
Hey sundiver, that's really neat!
I recently discovered the interesting printing capabilities of carpet underlay. I was going to print some spirals and geometric shapes on a wall. Didn't get to do it after all, but it was fun making the samples!

Sundiver....that floor looks great!! I have carpeting in my studio that I need to pull up and will be left with a concrete floor. Now I've got some ideas for decorating it! Thanks.

Thanks for your comments. We are updating our (windowless) basement, which was previously done in the Partly-Finished Ugly Style with Nintendo. We smooshed the walls in Tuscan reds with some grapevine stencilling around the top, and put cedar lattice on the ceiling. I call the style "Contemporary Italian Restaurant". Also With Nintendo.
BTW both the undercoat and the "flagstones" are done with porch-and-floor paint, waterbased, with a couple of coats of varathane (waterbased also) over that.
