If i want to do a large mural type painting on canvas, what would be the best way to hang it?
Sorry if this is really thick, i usually stretch my canvases for gallerys or post them rolled ready for stretching.

I have been asked to do a really large picture for someone (about 4 ft by 6ft) and they want to know if it can just be tacked to the wall, with out framing.
Is there any disadvantage to this?
Any advice?

Louise ;)

Yes and no.

I recently stretched a 60 x70 inch acrylic on canvas painting for a friend that she received as a gift. For three years it had been tacked to the wall in a humid climate with no stability problems. It can be done.

However, any professional framer will tell you that a picture should be able to breathe from behind.
