The many talents on this Website is just awesome!!!

As a self-starter, I picked up some art books and decided to give it a try.

Your kind inputs are appreciated.

Thanks.

For a first portrait, this is excellent!
Just soften the shadow between her eye and the nose. I think she needs some volume on the shoulder and back too.

Yes very nice, and I like the pose. As Janet says, the shoulder looks flat. Perhaps a few thin lines in the hair to make it sharper, and a few higher highlights in it.

A very nice first effort. You've been given some good suggestions, too. My only suggestion is to remember to paint the eyes, not draw them. You want to avoid using hard, straight lines. Always think three dimensionally. I painted a quick example to show you what I mean.

I used shadows to give the eye the appearance of roundness. The "white" of the eye isn't white. I used varying hues of the skin to make the whites.

Keep up the good work!
