View Full Version : New Stuff...

I'm trying something new this week. Original Photographs in the 'self-representing artists' category, just to see what happens. Auctions were listed Sunday, May 5 and the hit counters are keeping pace and sometimes out pacing my paintings. Chose to go this way after viewing all the junk in the normal photo categories! I could really use some feedback if anyone wants to check'em out!

David you might want to try what i did, which is linking towards the top of your description a larger picture of the one on the bottom...all you'd have to do is copy where the link is from on the internet into your description...here's an example of one i did for one of my pieces...
another thing as per what i've seen carly do is to make a virtual mat and frame in photoshop or paintshop pro...it's under actions in ps and under the pull down for image in psp.
<center><br>10"h x 8"w Print of an Original Colored Pencil Drawing<br>
<h5>-NO MAT AND FRAME INCLUDED-</h5><p><img src="http://www.artistnation.com/members/paris/arlene/fruitscanframed.jpg"></center><p>This beautiful print is from an original colored
pencil painting and was drawn by recognized colored pencil artist, <B>Arlene Steinberg</B>. The macro realism she uses to show every detail is an Arlene Steinberg trademark.
<p>The print of this beautiful flower, is from her color adjustments right before approving the final colors. All colors are close to the original.
<br>The printed area measures 10"h x 8"w and has a white border around it to make it easier to mat and frame. It will work beautifully in an 11" x 14" mat and frame. This wonderful piece is printed with archival inks on 100% archival paper.
<p>My signed and numbered prints on my web site of this Rhododendron sell for $40.00 each.

Arlene, thanks for the tips. Untill a couple of weeks ago I was able to link to pics at my website (geocities), but now Ebay says Yahoo can't find the pics and Yahoo says everything is ok on their end, so it must be something wrong at Ebay! All those hours I spent putting that site together seem wasted. I'm stuck with the crappy little Ebay pics, unless I want to pay more money to Ebay for larger ones. I need to find a way to solve this.

- Dave - I don't know if you have a freebie site at Yahoo or not but they outlawed 'remote loading' - I got an e.mail saying that you can no longer link a file i.e image file from a geocities site to another site such as an auction site. If you upgrade to Premium and pay the monthly fee then they allow it.
I now use: www.auctionessentials4u.com/fAuctionsManagementSuite.htm
(sorry can't link it!)
and I've found they're very good.
If you have a paid for site then they must have got it wrong somewhere!
Hope you can sort it out.

We had a thread about a month ago talking about image hosting for ebay. Several ideas were listed....a search would turn it up.
You should know that Scott is working on a new site hosting service for artists and will be offering image hosting as part of the service!

Thanks for that info Carly - I'll have a search for the thread and the info about the new site is very interesting:)
