I don't usually paint wildlife art. I generally stick to portaits and landscapes, but here is my first attempt. Any comments are welcome.

I really like the colours you've chosen for this work - I think they give the work a sombre look. I also like how the narrowed expression in the eyes matches the lowered ears (although you might want to get rid of the "whites" of the eyes).
I would, though, take a further look at the neck/shoulder area - although cougars are very powerful animals, their neck and shoulder area tends toward the thin side - well, compared to say, a lion or tiger. I've attached an image from the WC! RIL that illustrates what I mean:

Good suggestions. The photos did help me see your point. I have to admit that I think I was a little lazy when painting the body. I should have gotten a good reference image first. Tania, I also see what your talking about with the eyes, I think I humanized them a bit. I'll leave out the whites next time.
