Here's my version of Bouguereau's 'Evening Mood' although I think it is also known as 'Twilight'.
This is oil on canvas 50cm x 100cm. I spent about 4 weeks on this - it is x-posted in 'Painting from the Masters' off the Oil Painting Forum. Feedback is a little slow over there, 440 views and only one comment :( .

Hi Keith, she is beautiful and you've done a wonderfully good painting.
I really like the reflection you've painted in the water.
It would be very nice to see this painting in person.
It is a very thoughtful piece.

I am Sooooooooooo very sorry to hear that you've not gotten much response.
It's the same here, and maybe not as many lookers and not much comments.
Sometimes I don't know what to think myself :(

But thank you very much for your kindness in showing us your work here.
I've enjoyed seeing your painting.
I'd really like to see you do a wip here in classical one day.

Hi and welcome Keith, you have done a beautiful job with the lady !

....and I have noticed there is very little response in this monthly gallery thread too, and I find the matter a bit discouraging... mostly because it regards finished work ! It sometimes seems to me that only the monthly challenges are getting really lively in this forum... only the "faithful bunch" still keep posting in the others !

Next challenge ? Horses ? Peacocks ? whatever you like is OK for me .. I like both!
