WDE April 20,07 Tobagois, Beach scene

Here it is ,sorry could not make it earlier. My try at this beautiful beach scene, Christo's Yellow Umbrella Installation in California came to mind. http://www.christojeanneclaude.net/umFiles/umUSA.html
It took around 2 hours, I started with a drawing, then acrylic underpainting, and finish with oil, used a 9 by 14 Masonite panel with 2 coates of gesso. Comments and critique always welcome please.

I have a feeling the actual painting is even brighter. The contrast between the shaded area at the front and the rest are expressed well.

Ah, my! How lovely! This is exactly the sort of capture I wish I could do. I've done the same scene as my personal painting stumbling block to be overcome.

Yours has got that beautiful effect of a kaleidoscopic beach scene without being laboured.

Great work Horsth. This is how I would have liked mine to look, I thought the first figure under the umbrella was an odd shape and now I know why, it is 2 people one of which is reading a newspaper.
