View Full Version : Blue dog FINISHED
Oh No! It's another wip from me
I got permissoin from a friend to use this photo she took of her Golden retriver:
I love dogs, and I once had a Golden retriver named Tanja. She looked a lot like this one. I've just started today, so here's the first wip:
I'm making it on blue art spectrum paper (50 x 70 cm) using 3 diffrent colors of Pitt pastel pencils.
I hope to be back soon with an update.
Thanks for looking.

Very well done! I think the blue color suits the mood of the dog! :D Thanks for sharing this with us! This could be a mate for the "Blue Horse" that you did a while ago!

Love it, love it, love it, you have really captured that retriever look. He reminds me of my retriever 'Rags'
Donna T, :D Thank you!! Yes it makes me very happy, but also tired. But that's normal on the first day.
Merethe, I can highly recommend you trying this kind of drawing! It's so much fun!! Thanks for your comment!
annj, It is exciting at the new job. Thank you. :D
Jean, thanks for your comment. Yes it almost is a mate for that one, although I used black in that one. I'm not using any black in this one, an to tell you the truth, I love the effect of using monocrom colors!
John B, I'm so glad you like it! I had a golden once to, she looked like this one also. They are such great companions!!
I don't have an update for you tonight, but I do have some closeups of the parts I've finished.
Thanks for looking!
And now! this is finally finished. Thank you for your patiens!

Another masterpiece Dorte. I am learning so much from you! I just love following your WIP's, you share so much info, and the close ups are great. So my chair is pulled up front of the class for your next WIP!!!
Congratulations on your new job. It's hard starting somewhere new and learning your new responsibilities. Good Luck!
05-13-2007, 08:04 PM
Outstanding, it is so amazing that you can do this with only three pastel colours. I would love to be able to take a lesson from you, your work is truly amazing. The only problem is you live far too far away from me.
When we come back from our big 10 week holiday I will have to contact our local Pastel Society and see if there are any affordable teachers or workshops around. Because I work weekends the workshops would have to be during the week days.
Keep up the good work Dorte.
Love CJ  :)
