1. normal lighting
2. normal and uv lighting combined
3. uv lighting only
4. no light (glow)

(if you're interested in seeing bigger versions of these images, they're at my blog.)

48 x 30 inches / All acrylic paint.

The glow paint came out pretty cool on this one. It still glows for hours after all the lights are off. It actually freaked out me out a few nights ago as I was walking past it into the kitchen. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw this blurry greenish color and I nearly screamed. "AAAAGGHHHH, there's a ghost!!!?!?! ... oh, right. I did that. whew."

Thanks for looking! :)

This looks just like stained glass. Very amazing stuff. The metal holding in the glass is excellent!!!!.......I would love to see a WIP. (hint, hint!)

Beautiful and interesting.

That is so cool. I love things that glow. I can't believe I never thought of using glow in the dark paint in a painting. That would be an interesting idea for people who do portraits. What fun!

Is there metallic paint in there as well? The normal lighting version really seems to sparkle. Now, using metallics has crossed my mind.

hi all,

Thanks for your replies!

To answer some questions, yes I used some metallic paint as well as gloss.

I often post images of my work throughout the process on my blog, for anyone interested in seeing a WIP. I should get better at that, I always forget to take pictures until the painting is done.

thanks again,

shayla :)

I know this is an old thread, but I really like your work, Shayla. You say that you post work in progress on your blog, but I couldn't really find anything in progress there. Would you perhaps post some direct links here, please? Thanks.
