Don't the colours just sparkle on Yupo, soooo lovely and clean and bright!!!

Well done, mind you, this is small, completely different experience when you paint larger - try it!!!

That's one encouraging first try! Clean colors and interesting texture. I'm with Uschi, imagine the impact it would have on a bigger scale. Well done!

Nice job oln this!!! Isn't yupo interesting? You're never sure what you're going to get. Try a larger one next time. I'd love to see how it would come out. Good work!!

Thank you for your lovely comments Uschi, very much appreciated :)
I tried to keep my colours as clean and bright as I could and I will definitely try on a larger sheet of yupo

Thanks so much Camellia. It does have some impact... on a small scale...one problem tho' duplicating it on a larger scale...;) but I will try again :)

Painting on yupo is very unpredictable...and you have managed to 'tame' it a bit! I love the textures and the beautiful transparency of the colours in this. Is that some lacey effects in front or is it just the way the paint went when you applied it?

Sandy, I was trying to paint in rocks and grass but I think that my fingerprints were left on the surface, so the paint wouldn't stay put.;)
It does look like lace, too. :)
Well at least, I can paint that... :p
Thanks for your C&C

Hi Ree, Wonderful color and energy here, it reminds me of a scene in the Book I am reading "Decipher" where the sun is exploding in a series of firestorms... you get the idea...
Great first Yupo!!!

Ree,

Looks like you've taken to YUPO like a duck to water! ;) I really like how you let the paints flow on the support and yet there is a real subject there! Perfect title for it too.

I really like the trees and the rocks/bushes in the foreground.

You are so right, if you touch the surface of the YUPO, the natural oils in your fingerprints transfer to the "paper" even worse than they do on regular watercolor paper. So artists need to be aware of this and be careful when handling their sheets of YUPO.

Congratulations on your first post of a painting in the Watercolor Plus Gallery. It is a great way to start off!
