Calligraphy pricing?

Hi folks,

I have been asked to design the calligraphy for some wedding components, including a menu, the invitation, a monogram, and some flourishes, and have been asked for a quote. I have done handwritten calligraphy for weddings in the past, but have never done a design for digital use before, so I'm having trouble knowing how much to charge. Any ideas? I would greatly appreciate it!

George I charge 35 cents per character for most of my commissions and it seems to be the going rate in my area. I just finished a commission of doing invitation and that is what I charged and the client seems pleased.

P.S. I did not use a computer though I do all my work by hand the way calligraphy should be done. Computers are one of the reasons that calligraphy is becoming a dying art form and I refuse to let it die. It is a very special art form and should be kept alive and done only by hand. That is only my oppion.
