This is a famous Florida River at the Stephen Foster Culture Center. They have invited me to come out and do demo's there for visitors. It is a really cool place with artisan cottages throughout the park and a nice gift gallery where they sell regional landscapes, books and folk art.
This painting is 8x10 oil on linen.
BTW, Our own DJ has redesigned my website and will now be my webmaster. Check out my new site.
Love,
Linda

Hey Linda! Nice painting! I like those little touches of red and pink in there and that great swooping feel to the water. Congratulations on being asked to do demos. That will definitely get you some publicity and recognition. I hope they're paying you to do it! :D

Great painting & your web site is really good-- I like how it gives a real feel for your personality. And, congrats on doing the demos-- you're a wonderful ambassador for art, especially plein air.

Ruth,
Regarding the Demo:
They give the artists who demo 85% of their sale revenue, only taking a 15% commission on your painting sales in the gift gallery.
For artists who don't demo, they take 35% commission. Also, artists who demo are allowed to sell the paintings they do on site out right, without paying commission. Demo artists are given studio space there free if they desire it. So it amounts to pretty substantial incentives for doing it, not to mention the good PR and increased sales from that.
Thanks all for the kind words.
Love,
Linda

Linda, The site looks very professional. Tell DJ she did a great job.
That will be a good venue for you, Linda. I painted on location in a local town at private historic homes three years running. The town held a tour of the "Secret Gardens" and people bought tickets and toured through all the homes along the map. Each home had a demoing plein aire painter. Sold my paintings to the house's owner every year I did that tour.

Cool stuff and more incentive for me to get out there and learn Plein Air painting.
