Good Morning Everyone!!!!
This necklace is the beginning of my Non-Smoking Talisman. I received a GORGEOUS bead from Shirley, THANKS Shirley!! And when I saw Gladys's necklace the other day I thought to my self .....that is perfect, so THANKS Gladys;). The black section is the same as the blue just harder to see:D .
I will post a picture of it after I add the bead:)
What did you make?

Polly, Great knotting. Can't wait to see it with the bead on. I'm so proud of you, not only quitting the nasty addiction, but doing so in style and celebration!

THANK you Maggie  Without all you your guy's support I could not have done it!!!!! I will post the finished pic this afternoon, I just got it done and I am going to wear it today!!!!!!!!

Polly - great job on the knotting, I especially like the middle section! I look forward to seeing Shirley's bead dangle from it! :)

Carrie - I remember that necklace, great job on the re-do, tho I can't decide if I prefer the before or after version as they're both beautiful!
Polly, Lovely necklace. Can't wait to see it finished with the bead from Shirley. I'm glad that my work inspired someone!! Those corded necklaces lay so nice around the neck and so comfortable, you will like it.
Andee, Beautiful necklace. You do such wonderful work!! Gosh thats so pretty!!
Carrie, great re-do, love the colors and elements you have going on.
I'm knitting scarves, nothing to show, but love looking at everyone elses. Have a great weekend.

Good afternoon everyone! Was off line yesterday so no posting done, but I did manage to add some more yarn to my stash by doing some after work shopping!
Polly, I love the knotting-very Celtic looking and I'm very proud of your for quitting...it's so worth it. I've been a non-smoker for 24 years now and I am so very glad I quit! You'll succeed-can't wait to see the bead added!
Andee, your necklace is soooooooo gorgeous! It should be snapped up in a heartbeat! Well done.
Carrie...awesome re-do! The sunflower is perfect for those beads! It's as cute as it can be!!!
Well, here's what I've been doing all morning...swatching!!! I'm using a European pattern from Drops design...I love their patterns but the gauge size is really hard to get with American needles and unfortunately this pattern calls for size 7mm needles and guess what??? American needles don't come in the corresponding size..so I had to swatch this three times (third time was the charm:lol: ) before I could get gauge!! Very frustrating. However, I did get gauge finally on #9's (5.5 mm) and I really like the way it looks. Also did a little watercolor of the jacket to put in my project book so this is how the jacket looks. The yarn I am using is a heavy weight (bulky) cotton and it feels really nice with this moss stitch pattern.
I'm also working on finishing the purple heather Kilt Jacket...still! I knit on several things at a time..it helps with not getting too bored and giving up on the project. Hope to get it completed before Spring Break. We're out of school the first week of April...YAAAAAYYYYYY!!!
Hi Gladys!!! Hey, I wanna see your scarves!!!!

hey, Polly, I came to see what your quitting smoking necklace is - it's going to be great!!
Andee, love those colors.
Carrie, you're work always surprises me - I had to double check to see who made the pretty sunflower necklaces! (both versions were nice)
Pamela, it's going to be lovely!
I've been working on getting some things up on my site - have not been happy with my photographs but learned a few new things about levels yesterday so revisited some of my disapointing photos and I think they are much better now! Two of these I've posted before, one I didn't because the picture was just too bad. I'm reposting because you couldn't even tell the colors the last time. What do you think - good enough for the website now? Or keep trying?
03-24-2007, 01:19 PM
Pam, they look website worthy to me!!! Beautiful work and I am coveting that first one! Is that the most delicious color or what???
Thanks re: the jacket. :D Just took a look at my pic and my swatch looks like a potholder!

Pam - the photos are gorgeous and so are the necklaces! Definitely website worthy.

Pamela - what a lovely pattern, and I like the design!
Pam - yup, good photos! :) And beautiful necklaces, the first is my fave, I just adore that colour!
03-24-2007, 01:50 PM
thanks guys! I guess I'm on to something then - now I'm a little more excited about creating - the photo thing was really getting me down, I haven't been able to take good pictures since we moved to this house!
Lauren, your stuff looks wonderful - like just out of a magazine! Great job :)
Here's an OLD picture, Andee, you are probably the only one here who will remember it - but I messed around with the photo and now it is really pretty true to life:

Pam - yup, I remember it (and this makes me feel somewhat old now! ;)). It's a stunning piece!
03-24-2007, 02:02 PM
Thanks Pam. Your necklace looks like it took a long time to make. I applaud your patience. It is very pretty.
03-24-2007, 02:02 PM
LOL, it makes me feel old too ;) We should have another big project like that one soon. http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=178977&highlight=deep+blue+project
WOW!!!! What lovlies appeared while I was away!!!!
Pam and Lauren, Lovely work!!!
Pam, I remember that necklace. You posted that shortly after I found WetCanvas. That is still the most gorgeous necklace, love the colors. You know that would have worked on the WAF picture I had posted last time. Your photos are Web savy!!! I'm just learning how to fool around with pictures and change them. What looks good to my eyes might not be that way to others.

lauren..beautiful photography and great jewelry....good job!
pam...beautiful necklaces...it's impossible to pick a favorite - but love them all!
pamela..that's going to be gorgeous....

Pam - I actually saw that while perusing your website the other day - it's been on my mind ever since to tell you the truth, it's just too gorgeous.
03-25-2007, 10:47 AM
Thanks Katie! I was looking at your site the other day drooling over some of your bracelets as well - I think we adore the same color schemes :)
Gladys, that's right, you are an "Oldie but goodie" here too! LOL! And thank you. It's taken me 3 years to finally decide I could part with it. A woman asked to buy it but when I told her how much she never wrote back. Hope she didn't have a heart attack or anything!
Thanks Carrie! And thanks Lauren - the big necklace took about 30 hours to create. More or less. It was so much fun - I have plans for more big and crazy necklaces once I get back to melting glass... now just to find people who want to buy them as much as I like to make them.
03-25-2007, 11:29 AM
I think that's the other Katie lol - I wish it was me though. I'm just a newb for the moment :D.
03-25-2007, 11:47 AM
LOL - Sorry about that! Even so, I bet we like the same colors ;)
03-25-2007, 12:53 PM
Indeed we do lol.
