Hi all, I was away for awhile, because of sickness (flu two weeks), then my PC went wrong, so sorry I couldn't give any comments.
Now I start again and first I'd like to join here with my newest try to combine w/c with encaustic.
It is a sketch, a 'foreplay' for a bigger one.
The fence (Reality) and the bird was made by encaustic, the background (Dream) and the 'curious' orchyd was painted w/c
13" x 9", Wattmann, CP, self-made wax-colours and Schminke w/c
C & C are very welcome! :)

Thank you Tom!
I forgot to write: the two materials have more contrast in the reality.

Interesting painting mix. The gate does look real. Glad you're back.

And what a comeback!!!   Love those soft dreamy colour behind the stark detail of the gate. If you are to paint this again do you think you would make any changes?

 HI! Mari, Glad to hear that you are feeling better and back to painting, you did really great job on the metal work of the gates, I like that you've added to it with color and whimsy. Enjoy, Regards, Marianne

Interesting contrast between the hard iron fence and the delicate flower. I've viewed some encaustics in the mixed media forum, but still not sure what they entail, but I like the effect. Nice work!

great work on the gate / fence, and overall the contrast of hard/sharp and delicate/soft is intriguing.
