When creating a card or envelope and putting an address as the text, how do you align the lettering so that you don't create too long of a line of text for the card or envelope size?

Hi! Lynn! Are you referring to calligraphy by hand or on the computer? I am of the OLD school (pretty much, but learning every day!!) (Am 70 yrs old) so I will work out in pencil the layout of the text before I "hit" the envelope with ink!!! Sounds time consuming, but certainly gets rid of a lot of sorrows when things don't come out right. I use the old Royal Academy of Calligraphers "double pencil" to lay out the hand/font I am using. I usually align the left hand margin of the address text fairly far to the left straight down - this leaves plenty of room to work. Good luck! Helen
