View Full Version : Egg Elegance

Hi all,

Well Dianna promises eggs to be "sure fire sellers" so lets hope her formula works for me too. :)

had a bugger of a time with the stitching of the cloth but finally got it "ok." I'll probably go back and blend the cloth better, I'm just egghausted right now, ar ar.

C&C welcome and appreciated.

Hi Mellanie,

The only thing that one can see it's not real, is the cloth - it's really well achieved, of course.
Now, I have to say that the rest is outrageously realistic.
I'm impressed !

Kind regards,

I love the way the embroidery draws your eyes up to the eggs!!! So beautiful! Wait type of paper did you use? Was it black?

Having just gone through Diannas tutorial thread in drawing and itching to get started on something out of my comfort zone I really admire this pic. If you are still learning then maybe there is hope for me yet!!

I'm so glad to hear that I egged you on into trying these little beauties!! :D The'll be gone in no time Melanie. I have one little suggestion and that would be to clean up the edges of your doily. The manufacturer that put that out may have done some shoddy workmanship but you don't have to let him get away with it. You don't want perfection but I would trim away that excess fabric leaving only slight uneveness for character. Bravo lady!!

Cheers, Dianna :cat:

A winner! Love the details in the painting, and I really love the atmosphere you've created!

Thanks for all the nice replies and feedback everyone.

Cathleen, I used the sand colour of the LaCarte paper. The black is charcoal.

Hi Melanie!
This is eggstraordinary! (Had to think hard to find another "egg" adjective!) I do like super realism and you certainly have achieved that here! Is it all pastels? Or do you use pastel pencils as well? Absolutely wonderful!! Regards Diane.

Beautiful painting, Melanie. The colour of the eggs is fantastic.

Hi Diane,

Yes I used pencils as well to clean up the edges.
