I love to work from living models. I've had white Violets, Clover and Onion flowers, but this week I found color in our "yard". I'm gonna' try to be organized enough to make an annual journal of what's blooming on our homestead...we'll see.
There's a little bluebird thinking about nesting under our awning, I hope. The jasmine smells sweet but is poison, and is climbing a pine behind our pond. I saw it while walking our track around the pond, a reward for exercising. The Scarlet Pimpernel, reminding of the great old movie, I had to google to find the name of. I wish I had used regular coral rather than mango, and purple rather than lavender for the center.
I used copper wire to string this set...love the way you can arrange it, and I plan on doing it lots more soon. I'm sharing the joy of my country life this way w/ you. Did I tell you the air smells like potpourri? It's so grand. Love, Helen
PS I've been addicted to Tylenol PM to sleep since our hurricane, and just quit, so I'm hyper. Sorry to be such a hog!

Fantastic work, and what a great way to keep a nature journal! I've always loved your flowers, and will be watching for new things blooming. Are you going to continue this thread or start new ones?

Thanks, Glass Friends! I'm about to jump out of my skin it's so beautiful here. It's like watching tv through every window, & I'd love to play in the dirt all day, but alas, it has to be paid for...so off to studio I go.:) Love, Helen

Keep going, Helen! I can almost see where you are from what you're doing in glass! How wonderful to have so much inspiration. It's almost wasp season here - no flowers yet and plenty of flies... It's nice to see that there's beauty blooming elsewhere!

Helen,
I'm so happy for you that you are living in such a beautiful setting. And thanks for sharing it with us. Your beads keep evolving and it just amazes me because they were always glorious. :) And I love the old version of the Scarlet Pimpernel. The man who played the lead is wonderful!

Your flowers are truly an art form and you are a genius! Cathy

Thanks, Cathy! I rather doubt the genius part, though.:) When I discovered lampwork, I guess I was 50, and all my hyper compulsions blended into perfect fruition. Excitement daily, never a dull moment at the torch, mysteries discovered every morning after sleepless wonderings, designing dreams, a legal fix in glass. I forsook many media for glass, as I'm sure many here have, the perfect liquid/solid twinkling and so permanent medium of melted beaches & deserts.:) Love, Helen, corny poetic after her bedtime/beadtime
