Boro-- I'm lovin' boro these days. Now if only I could improve... sigh.... one piece at a time.
These are a few implosion attempts.
This implosion is with carmel and I was pleased with the implosion so naturally, the loop broke!
Now, for those who have seen Gail Crosman Moore's "Borosilicate Beads of Nature" by Jim Kervin, don't panic. Yes, this is my "copy" attempt of a bead she demo'd in her book BUT it is for practice only. It will never be sold.... It's nowhere near as good as hers but it was a fun and interesting bead to make.
closer up of same bead:
and I leave you with more hearts...
Tonight I made 3 more implosions and, if the glass gods are kind, I think they're going to be nice!
So what'cha got???

Sue - lol - you go girl!! Great job!
I know I posted these in Wed's show, but I have a MUCH better pic now and it really shows the true colors...they are so pretty in person!
03-07-2007, 09:44 PM
 Great job guys!!!
Sue, do you sleep?? busy busy girl!
Debi, those colors are delightful, and the beads are gorgeous.
I have been fighting the fever devil, and right now he's winning in spite of the nyquil. (jerk!)
Here are some Spring stones from yesterday~
Enjoy your day~
03-07-2007, 09:53 PM
Thanks Juls, yours are really pretty too! take care of that bug - alka seltzer cold works good too.
03-07-2007, 10:02 PM
Beautiful job ladies! Juls, take some advil/ibuprofen for the fever. If congested, take a decongestant along with nyquil (it doesn't have the decongestant in it anymore). I'm the queen of self medication when I get a cold :)
Debi, the blue ones remind me of jasperwear. Great details!
Sue, I love your show & tells. You're an inspiration!
No pics from me today (kinda chilly in the basement).
03-07-2007, 10:06 PM
Good stuff here already! Can't wait to see more.
Spring is coming... here's Fiesta:
And here's Just the Blues:
Thanks yall. I took an alka seltzer cold and 2 advil a couple of hours ago. Then I took the nyquil hoping to sleep. No such luck yet, but it is hard to sleep when your temp exceeds that of hell. (ok, not really, but I don't DO fevers. ick~!)
Pretty sets, Mar.

Sue, you are doing great! You are so smart to document everything. I have never even tried an implosion, too intimidating.
Deb, you continue to perfect your skill, I hope you know your work is more amazing every week. Cameo is lovely.
Juls- love the Easter colored rainbow....I gotta try the silver wire, I have never done it yet. I have some, it just sits in the package.
Marilynn....don't you just love working with brights? These are happy beads!
Here are mine...I am over the moon with the sheen of colors I got. Absolutely a blast to work with.
03-07-2007, 10:32 PM
Nancy, isn't Nyx fun? That's one awesome, stunning set!
Marilyn, what a nice, happy, colorful bunch o' beads - makes me smile just looking at them!
Juls, I'm adoring your spring stones in their lovely Easter colors!
Debi, those look like Wedgewood! How cool is that!
Sue, you've been busy again! And don'tcha know, only the best ones break!
Here's mine, all ASK glass...
03-07-2007, 10:46 PM

Sue - I love the commentary!!!
I worked on more hollows, this time in Lavender with little silver "stars"...on the bay.

03-07-2007, 11:49 PM
Awesome showcase everyone. Such bright colors!!!
Here's some more nyx. I love this stuff. My favorite is on silvered ivory! Can't wait to get back on the torch. I have so many ideas in my head for this stuff.
03-07-2007, 11:58 PM
Yup Amber, you guessed it! Gosh, you're good!
03-07-2007, 11:59 PM
Wow, gorgeous beads everyone! I love all of the contributions tonight, those lavendar hollows are to die for, and Debi, I love the delicate colors you used. Sue, I feel your pain, I made cow beads last night, and of course the one with the cutest expression cracked (I spent too much time admiring him and not enough time popping him quickly into the kiln). Haven't cleaned the cow beads yet, but here's a couple of sets I just listed.
03-08-2007, 02:05 AM
Stunning work everyone!!!!!
Here's a set from me...part of a series that I'm doing...

03-08-2007, 03:39 AM
Wow, I've got to get me some Nyx! :D Everything else in the show is wonderful too! :)
Here's some of my usual stuff. I took these pictures really big and I think they turned out better. I had to size them way down for the auctions and then again for this forum.
03-08-2007, 04:45 AM
Gorgeous! Gorgeous! Gorgeous!! All the beads are too! hehehe :D
I just have one bead to show. I decided to use up some left over stringer I had scattered over my table. Mostly blues and greens, on an opal yellow base with raised dots the same. Plus a little contrasting pink bump with a mini flower lol Oh it's etched as well.
Oh also some simple dark lavender lentils with swirls.
03-08-2007, 04:48 AM

I have another fish...
Have a great day!

Thanks to all for the nice compliments. I'll give me credit for one thing- I'm good at both making mistakes and taking credit for the mistakes I make. lol The glass gods were not kind to me afterall. The 3 implosions I thought were so nice are fugly. One was with yellow implosions and I grabbed a really dark rod to back the implosion with and it turned out to be a beautiful sparkly blue but the yellow implosion fingers didn't work so it just looks ugly. I DO love the blue though. Wonder what the heck it was? The patriotic red-white-blue imposion looks like white, bleack blue/black and faint traces of red on the outside edges... The third implosion was made with the dots from a stringer of blue-amber-purple & amber-purple. Thought 2 reactive colors would be great. The implosions look like frog eggs... and not healthy ones at that! Be a couple of days before I'm home to load the pictures for a show and tel-- count yourselves lucky! NOT pretty by any standards!
Loving this showcase, btw.

WOW Juls, Wana share what color that is in the dead center? that pink? And what gauge silver do you use? I am a huge fan of your work:-)
Thank you, Sarah. That is Bullseye Pink, and I used 28 gauge fine silver wire on that particular set.

Beautiful beads as usual! Love the bulleseye colors and Amber you have such a gentle, subtle touch with color.
Here's a finished piece kiln fused dichroic pendant accented with a polka dot lampwork bead. Wire wrapped with gold-filled wire. PS. The bead isn' tcracked. I don't know what that is in the pic.
