View Full Version : problem with editing in photshop

I am having a problem with saving edited images that i have down loaded from a Kodak Picture Disk into photoshop. I can edit the image in any way that i chose but when i try to close it and it asks me if i want to save the changes i click yes but it then tells me that it cannot be saved because the file is locked. It goes on to say that i must use the 'properties' command in the file manager to unlock the file. Where is this file manager thing??? I do not encounter this problem when using my digital camera. I'd sure like to be able to use those images on that disk. I'm getting crazy here trying to figure this out. Thanks

Hi Cheryl,

It means the file is at present 'read-only' which is is usually the case with files taken from a cd. In the Open dialogue box , highlight the file or files and right click on them and select 'properties'. At the botom of the properties box (General tab) untick the read-only attribute.
