Nalynn - Great job on the hollows.

Haven't posted in a while so I figured I'd better get my butt over here and show something. Here's a set from the other day.

Hi, Nalynn...nice beads...many that I have never tried to do! It looks like you are having a lot of fun. Check out your second pic in your second post...it comes up invalid and I for one want to see it up close!

I worked a lot this weekend, learning, learning. Here is my second faceted cube. It isn't terribly interesting to look at. I am still learning a lot about how much glass to use to get enough to grind it all down again!http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/18-Feb-2007/56435-IMG_2001.JPG http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/18-Feb-2007/56435-IMG_2005.JPG

Have a great week! xiola

Here's a set of sprees, with lauscha olive for the base, and then iris blue shards and some raku dots with clear...I love using shards--they are so unpredictable!

What a beautiful start for the new week!

Rachel, I love your shard beads! Nice, mellow colors, but bold in design - great contrast!
Wow Bernadette, those are awesome! They must've taken you forever, they seem so intricately detailed!
Yummmmmm, Linda! Those are luscious! And so bright too! I love the patterns embossed in them too!
Xiola, nice faceted bead! A grinder is next on my list of things to buy.
Aimee, what a beautiful set, in subtle, relaxing colors.
Nalynn, looks like you've been super busy! Great beads and nice variety too! I like the stripey blue hollow!

I added a bunch of encased raku swirlies to the focal I've already shown...

Wonderful show again today. This is my 2nd photo post. 1st bead is raku - don't know how I did it and can't do it again. 2nd bead is my Eclectus parrot Chloe - she should have a black beak but "artistic Licence" and all that!!!

Absolutely beautiful showcase everyone!

I was so proud of these when I was making them, but after getting them out of the kiln, not so sure.

I thought I had the raku thing down, before annealing they were beautiful, had the dark blues and green thing goin on, after annealing they lost their vibrancy.

I'm kind of stuck on this color combo, just didn't realize how wonky looking the flat ones are.

Spring has sprung at least on this showcase. Great work everyone.

02-19-2007, 01:13 PM
I agree definatly a Springy morning!!! Its so nice to look at Springy beadies instead of the white stuff outside...

They are still very pretty....but I so understand! It would be nice if there was a way to keep all the vibrancy of hot beads as they are going into the kiln. Sometimes opening the kiln can be so disappointing!

Xiola I love that bead, shows glass in all it's glory!

Flame those beads are good enough to eat! looks like tasty candy.

Bernadette beautiful colors makes me think of arabian nights.

Rachel that look is great looks wet!

Jayne the textures you used are great makes you want to touch them.

Mary the eye is adorable like he is saying please take me home.

Jenn your parrot is wonderful, I love the bright colors, makes him seem so real.

Anastasia That design is wonderful, classic colors with a bit of spring.

Ayako amazing detail, this marble is a wonderful miniature world.

Ana I love the reptilian design!!! And great colors.

Val your srtinger control is wonderful, great work I especially like the first set.

Michelle I finally gave up on florals like these, I am in awe, sure you can't smell these, so realistic.

Mopnglo (sorry don't know your real name) I like the raku set, encasing sometimes help them stay brighter, but I think that set would make a beautiful necklace.

Mandy looks like a beautiful spring dusk! IS that CZ in the flower looks great.

I love getting a lift from the wonderful things I see here!

Thanks, everyone for your feedback (it IS scary to post in the showcase). And thanks to all of you who contribute to this forum, because it was YOUR discussions on technique that helped me get the hang of hollow beads. I'm no master yet, but all the things I've read in these forums has been applied.
