I got this idea looking through an elfwood artists gallery. She does rats :) but they are the CUTEST things you ever saw. her page is here, under art/rats (http://www.gorblimey.com/)
and here is my pick. Half way through the drawing i desided to make it ink... crit away

I think the idea is great but the steed looks like a piggy to me. IS that what it is supposed to be?

RAT
its a rat. It does look a little pigish doesn't it :(
I am not completely happy with this, of course i am stillworking on it. I've never drawn a rat before either. Look at the nose and the feet... and pigs don't have ears like that....
hmm.... pig... you just gave me an idea :D
Yup definitely need longer nose, if staying a RAT, my girls had these for pets, I became instantly converted, they are SOOOO intelligent!
So make sure it has intelligent eyes!!!
Otherwise, does it need a chariot?? she's not using it anyway, and looks a bit redundant, IMO only :)

yep, but its ink so no fixing that.
that is not ment to be a chariot, it is ment to be a wagon :)
OOOh sorry... I knew I'd pick the wrong word, but couldn't think of the right one:o
know what U mean about the ink.. perhaps a little weta would look nice in it?? :D :D

weta?
I am trying to figure out how to fix that bridal. think i am going to need another strap behind the ears because there is not really anyway to keep the riens from hurting his ears the way it is.....

Wasn't trying to offend just making an observation. I thought it was supposed to be a rat but....
Rats have sharper noses and their bodies are sleeker. Think of an Otter out of water but the body ratio is slightly shorter. Rats also come to points, more or less, on both ends. As Gnu said, they are extremely intelligent when kept in clean, non-crowded environments.

Yep, I know. Have had a very smart rat before. Love rats, they are my pet of choice.
Have also seen some rats that are just mean, like my sis in laws mother rats.
Would have done better had i looked at the picture, but i basicly did a charicature... Will get a picture next time because i agree, it doesnt quite look like a rat, but it is interesting and more interesting the further i go on it. Might make an interesting childrens story illistration.

This is a really clever concept for a drawing. I like that the rat is pulling a wagon, maybe filled with berries or nuts?
