I just finished this painting tonight. I is much thicker than usual..being 21/2 in. thick. The canvas seems to be much more tighter and does not bow. I really enjoyed painting on this canvas...I bought it at Sam Flax..it is a Signature Series. Anyway...let me know what you think...thank...Jeff

Wow, this is really striking, kinda looks like a modern day mosaic, colours are unusual & very nice together - if you had described it over the phone ie turquoise, gold, green, pink, mauve, copper etc I might have thought Errrrr but they really look great - it also looks like it was a LOT of fun to do  , did you have a plan that you followed or did you make it up as you went along ??

I really like this one a great deal. The colors are lovely together and the pattern is pleasing. You have a real eye for color and pattern.

Forgot to mention that I can imagine that the geometric style of your painting looks really cool on that deep canvas ..... I couldn't find those canvases on the Sam Flax website, do you think the Dick Blick 2"3/8 would compare http://www.dickblick.com/zz071/37/ (lurve dick blick, so much cheaper than stores if you can wait ....) ???

yes blick is fine...but I would rather have you purchase the Blick Premier Museum Profile Canvas (http://www.dickblick.com/zz071/38/) ....it is much stronger and has a thicker Canvas on 10oz...instead of the 7oz. canvas with the studio.

Thanks Jeff, good to know, if I ever get brave enough to attempt a large, seriously heavy duty piece of artwork !!!

PS. the more I look at your painting, the more I see - I now see a city built into a hillside, full of apartment windows, offices etc - v cool

Now this I really like. Like Taz said, it is like a mosaic. The colours are just so harmonious and there are some lovely textures. I could almost reach out and touch the 'stones'. It is an excellent work. Well done.
