This is a 5x7 my favorite size these days. From a photo I took down in NYCity

How cute! Makes me wonder who they are waiting on so patiently. :D

lovely, fab composition (car in top corner with trendy alloy wheels v cool  !!) I don't know how you get so much detail in on such a small scale (got 2 4"x4" mini-canvases for Christmas & am clueless as to what to do with them ... )
I love the expression on the little dogs face, he looks really p'd off/disapproving about something :) were they just sitting there without leashes or did you use a little artistic license ??

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaw they remind me of a little dog Alan and I saw at the entrance to the underground not far from Champs Elysees in Paris. He was waiting for his master I guess and he looked so lonely and so sad. I was surprised no one stole him..

Thanks for the positive reaction to this folks!!! I took the shot outside a supermarket. They were on leashes that I left out of the painting. They were waiting impatiently for their owner who was in the market!!!

Has a very french feel to me!!! Well done. I like the way you've simplified the background but still leaving enough detail to make out what is there.

Appreciate the comment!! That's the way I felt about the background. Didn't want too much in there to take away from the dogs!!
Aww - real cute - you've made this so dynamic for such a small painting - I can just see them about to bound off!

I bet they were more than ready to bound off and impatient waiting for their owner outside a supermarket! Happy you liked it!:)

Those are two charming creatures. That sense of waiting is so well portrayed. Also like the muted background. Well done.

Thanks much for the nice comments! Haven't done many dogs, but am working on another one now! Am part of "Art Helping Animals",AHA so am doing more than just cats for a change!!
This is just gorgeous! How you can get such detail into such a small space beats me!!!

Thanks! Actually I've done a lot of miniature painting, so a 5x7 is big in my eyes! LOL But I do work as large as 18x24, but not that often!

I just had to stop by and see what Bertoni has been up too...this is a winner Bert!
How've ya been?
I'm not painting much the last 2 years, been working with the camera a lot.
I'm getting some good reference material though.
Waiting for my basement studio to be finished.
I'm still a fan of your art! Keep up the good work. By the way..this painting evokes a childs book illustration.
"The Adventures Of---"
Good seeing ya
