i started this one out in colored pencils and didn't like it a bit so i spent the time and went over it with acrylics. I think i will put it in an oval matting before framing. Welcome c&c please. This is my 3rd acrylic painting.

Wow, very real. Reminds me of my uncle's dog, so it makes me kinda sad.

Very nice work on the dog. Very soft and good focus on the face.

Ruth: you should see them in real life... thanks for the kind words.

Dueck: There's a special place in my heart for 'each' companion that I
have had in my past. One day this painting will be a memorial also
and that will be a good memory... Be happy!

I KNOW THIS PIECE!!! I think the transition from the colored pencil to acrylics went well!!!

I recommend a varnish spray. I love Kamar Varnish -- been hard to find lately.

Leslie: is this a gloss spray?

It has a shine but with just one spray it's not too shiny. Kamar also sells matt finishes if you are not interested in shine.

Wow! Great job!

Leslie: i sprayed one layer on it and it gave it a nice sheen. It needed it as it was somewhat dull from me using a looser acrylic. Thanks for the advise. I had to pay $9 for the can when Art Supplies online sell it for around $5. Oh well, it will last for quite a while. Now i can get back to finishing up Jeff Gordon with graphite that i had put down to do this painting. :)

Jeff: thanks for the kind input

Somewhere out there is a dog looking for his lost nose, which somehow got stuck on your painting. (sorry, that sounds a bit macabre, I guess:angel:) Beautiful job on the dog.
