Great detail and colors!

You must put lots and lots of effort into the details to get them as high
resoluted as they are. Most of the post I've seen by you almost seem as detailed as a rendered 3D scene.

How long do you work on each piece?

This was produced in photoshop about 3 years ago when i was selling work under my real name David Taylor so I can't be sure how long it took but as i was just starting to do digital art I have a feeling it took about 3 hrs it was produced much more simply than you might suspect but as I work intuitively I don't always know what I did to get the end result it's more fun that way I have found that if you try to replicate something it never turns out right it seems to loose the sparkle so to speak
the time I take now varies greatly the iris for example took 5 hrs where as the japanese style ones took 30 to 40 mins and bright sky took around 15 mins, but on average if it's a serious piece rather than some of the fun ones i've been posting i will spend a good day on and off doing it depending on what I'm doing I tend to work at a fairly large file size and then reduce
I hope this answers your question

Very nice, was it a photo manipulated or a painting? I like no matter the method.

Thank you Edie
It started life as a photo taken in my local woods

Dave, I only have one complaint, I have dialup! You see your hi-res PNG's take me so long to look at that I get discouraged. But I do like your work! These ferns are a good example, I like this image! :)
