View Full Version : The Angel Squid

I like symmetrical compositions, and focal elements placed right in the middle (Which many people consider "non optimal"... meh!).

I don't always use them, but enjoy them greatly when I can...

This is a virtual opposite to the previous squid illustration, which was quite asymmetrical.

I used the Wacom a little for this one, specially to make the small "cherubs" and the clouds... it's difficult... I still can't get the click speed right with the pen, but I can see it can become a very powerful tool with practice.

Comments are welcome and thanks for reading!

This one is stupendous!
I too, like symmetry, but as you well know, good symmetry is not always easy to achieve. You've hit this one out of the ballpark.

Excellent balance and flow, with the "cherubs" capping this piece.
I particularly enjoy the suckers on the two long tentacles.
Fabulous gradient work, and good overall movment in this piece. How big is it? It would make a great wall mural!
