TERESA LALIBERTE LavenderCreek Sculptural and Beyond.....Way Beyond! JANUARY 24 & 25, 2007 Wed/Thurs 10am - 5pm $300 Canadian (Approx. $260 US)
This exciting 2 day workshop is a once in a life-time opportunity for us as Teresa normally teaches her classes in Germany.
The classes will focus on learning and becoming more comfortable with various sculpting techniques. You will learn how heat, gravity and the use of hand tools are used and combined to create detailed sculptural beads. You'll practice these techniques by making several sculptural beads during the class consisting of: animals, human figures, facial features (masks or heads) and will also learn sculpting in a bas relief style using a new technique that Teresa has been exploring. You will also be working with various surface treatments, learning how these can best be applied to an irregularly shaped sculptural bead without losing the form. Enamels, foils, frits and silver wire, raku frit & rods will all be used. *Students will bring with them 3 example images/drawings for the bas relief project, please keep them fairly simple. This is the technique that Teresa uses on her water-bearers, butterflies, lizards, etc.
