These were not the colors I was originally going to paint this. I was wondering if they looked okay. I know it's hard to see in the photo. I was also wondering what y'all thought of it. This teapot was my final exam project for Ceramics III (high school). We had to throw a bunch (6+) of different pieces and put them together while keeping in mind the principles of design. We were instructed to not plan out our project ahead of time, which was a bit of a challenge.

I'm still not finished painting this yet. It was going to be yellow at first, but I like it better this way.

Someone said that it'd be suitable for my college portfolio, though I think it seems rather simple. Opinions?

Well, they may not have been the colors you originally planned, but it looks like the piece told you exactly what it wanted to be -- I think it's great you just went along for the ride! I'm not sure why its simplicity troubles you because you've made a beautiful piece with a few fun elements; I especially like the "steam curls" coming out of the spout!

I think it turned out super cute. My nieces would really like to "tea party" with that one.
