Very nice! I like the setup, and you've handled it very well.

Those apples look very realistic! I want to pick one up and eat it.

Is Jif a type of peanut butter then? Over here Jif is cleaning fluid!!

Thank you, Walden and Wendy, for your nice comments.

Yes, Wendy, Jif is a brand of peanut butter. I imagine cleaning fluid wouldn't taste as good on apples. ;) "Choosy moms choose Jif" was a slogan they used in the 80's.

nice!

Maybe the table top could be a different color? It's the same color as the peanut butter...

Since the source of light is behind and to the left of the various objects there should be a shadow on the right and bottom of EACH subject.

The wire mesh bowel should be shaded as well with the brightes bright facing the source of light and the mesh showing the effects of the shadow on most/all of the right side and much of the center sections. You have all sections sparkling the same amount.

If the light is bright then the shadows are dark. Since you have light sparkle on the apple and on the mesh...then the shadows on the Jif jar...apples...etc should be a dark value.

The background should have some variation of value....with the lightest section on the right....(and exactly where depending on where the light is) and then be gradually darker moving to the right and down.

Likewise the table should have a graduated darkness moving away from the light source.

It takes a lot of time and study to see all these things...and much more time and practice to paint them...but it will come. Keep up the good work.

I just love Jif and you have done an excellent still life in it's honor.

I would like mine on toast with strawberry jam :)
