soothing, calming like clear shallow water sheeting over a mossy rock with leaves floating on the surface. This is just very stunning!! Great depth and colors!

Donn,

I normally don't hop into this forum but so glad I did - I love your painting. You have captured the flowing water and those last dying leaves of fall.

Lovely.

Very nice, love the painterly quality to this piece. Nice sense of place and the softness of the light is amazing.

thanks everyone.. It's been a long strange journey relative to this painting and it's relatives. Staring into the lake where these photos were taken I saw the manifestation in nature of a series of relatively abstract drawings I worked on years ago. Even the shapes mirrored my prior work. I figured that maybe fate had a hand or it was a bit of an epiphany that shapes and structures repeat at many levels in many ways for the largest to the smallest, maybe even at a nano level.

Beautiful painting. Don't like the title. It's self-evident. But the handling of the piece is really really nice.

I too, love the painterly quality and the palate. It posesses a peaceful stillness -And I'm fascinated by the same observations of infinite regression.
Nice piece!

Lovely and magic from a trout's eye-view!

now if I could just convince a trout to pose for a bit.. (or even a carp or a minnow or a crayfish). Glad you liked it. There will be more coming as for some reason I've got a fixation on this type of imagery.
