Great start! You're already capturing the light.

Ah, wonderful start! The ref seem to be a bit tricky, but your drawing don't seem to suffer by that...love the light too!

It's not the greatest ref, but it's got a potential for awesome lighting! I think you're going to do well with this one.

Having a chocolate labrador myself I know that getting them to stay still long enough for the camera to focus is a job in itself!
Your image is great, you have captured the life in the Lab already.

Oh goodness this is coming along beautifully. Keep it up!
I agree with Craig that made me laugh because it is a chore. I have a year old Black Labrador and it is a hassle, and even tougher is to get him to keep his tongue in his mouth, ha.

I couldn't find my thread! I hope you didn't fall off your chair when you fell asleep Jody007!
Anyway, I finished the commission and sent the client a scan - they are really pleased with it, so hopefully (as is usually the case) they will be even happier when they see it in real! I know there is a slight difference in pupil size, which I have altered, but not re-scanned yet...

You pulled out lots of nice values from that less than perfect ref. They really add depth to that pretty smile. good job! I always get stuck on the lights and mediums. Glad your client liked it too!
