:) Hi Gigi,
Thanks for your encouraging reply. I am just learning ArtRage, Project Dogwaffle, Adobe Photoshop and CoralDRAW - only for the lost two months. As of now, I am comfortable with ArtRage and Project Dogwaffle. The ones you see here were first made with Dogwaffle, then enhanced with Photoshop. I may start learning Coral Painter too shortly.
I welcome your suggestions for bettering my work and do something substantial in abstract art thruí digital medium. Thanks again!

Wenkat

Hi Wenkat, dogwaffle is my favorite for painting. you might like to try twisted brush by pixarra, they have a free versions thats woth looking at. since you have photoshop, why not try making a copy of your original and then experiment with the different filters that should have come with the program. dogwaffle has some filter effects too, look for one called "mystic vision" fun to play with. good luck and have fun!

Welcome to w.c. ..... nice start.. i see you have already caught on to the idea of textures! Very good first start! As far as tips go, you are going to best play around with the proggies, and find your own vision. You have the delete button that will help you creatively more than anything else..... You are half way through a pic, and you do something you dont like.... "click".... kind of freeing!

Hi wenkat! I like the texture in the first, but the second is more eye catching.
If you want to explore, try taking both into photoshop and layering together. see if you can get the texture to show through while still seeing the beautiful wavy pattern. Then play with the colors, esp diff hues and saturation levels,. It's a good learning experience and could be a basis for more work. (remember, save often so you can go back and look at all the differences).

escape (original imagecreated in bryce and psp)
http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/19-Dec-2006/71803-P-escapecoloremboss.jpg
escape2- after saving as .bmp brought over to dw and adjusted hue/sat/lightness, then applied color emboss filter
http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/19-Dec-2006/71803-P-escapebrushstrokes.jpg
escape3 same as before but instead of color emboss, this time i applied brush strokes filter(not totally thrilled with this one)
http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/19-Dec-2006/71803-P-escapemysticvision.jpg
escape4 with the brush strokes filter still applied, i then applied mystic vision twice and finished up with a small adjustment of the hue/sat/lightness filter.
remember save everthing, you never know when you'll want to play with it again.

A friendly advice you; stick to as few programs as possible, you'll better of in the long run. All the programs that you have listed have lots of overlapping functionality.

EDIT: Sorry guys, didn't notice that the previous poster was digging up a 2 year old post...sigh
